This move away from paper-based systems provides a single, accessible source for site-specific documentation, supporting improved operational efficiency, data accuracy and compliance across major mine sites.
SiteDocs is accessed via tablets on site, allowing underground crews to complete and sign forms in real time. Documentation entered underground is automatically uploaded once crews return to the surface, ensuring information is captured without interrupting workflow.
The system is already being implemented across key safety processes, including Inspection Reports and Incident Reports, with Assessment Booklets and employee records such as licences and tickets currently being uploaded. This creates a live, centralised database that supports compliance and enables the development of an automated training matrix.
For crews, the shift provides immediate access to critical documentation in the field. For supervisors and clients, it delivers real-time visibility of completed forms, safety reporting and progress tracking, improving transparency across projects.
Importantly, MMS is taking a practical approach to digital adoption. The system is designed to simplify processes rather than add complexity; reducing time spent handling, filing and retrieving paperwork, while ensuring all required fields are completed before submission.
Additional functionality, including integrated imagery within inspection reports, supports clearer handovers between crews and more effective reporting back to clients. Looking ahead, MMS will also leverage SiteDocs’ analytics capability to deliver real-time data insights, live KPI dashboards and automated reporting.
This transition reflects MMS’s broader focus on ensuring safety systems evolve alongside the operational demands of underground work. As expectations around governance and reporting continue to increase, digital tools like SiteDocs provide a practical way to maintain best-practice standards while supporting efficient delivery.
Safety at MMS remains driven by people, supported by systems that are fit for purpose. SiteDocs is one more step in ensuring those systems work effectively in the environments where they are needed most.
