Business update: a new workshop built for what comes next

Precise. Efficient. Consistent. Our new workshop significantly increases fabrication capacity and capability for our underground mining clients.

Murchison Mining Services (MMS) has entered its next phase of growth, with the establishment of a new workshop that significantly increases fabrication capacity and capability for our underground mining clients.

The new facility has been designed to support a growing pipeline of underground infrastructure work, particularly fabrication projects that require precision, repeatability and efficient turnaround. By investing in workshop capability rather than relying on constrained third-party capacity, MMS is strengthening its ability to respond quickly to your needs and deliver consistent outcomes.

“This expansion is not just about space,” said MMS Managing Director Chris Piggott. “It reflects a broader focus for 2026 on controlled quality, better scheduling certainty and safer fabrication processes.”

Bringing more work into a purpose-built workshop environment allows MMS to apply the same practical, safety-first mindset used on site to the way equipment and infrastructure are built.

For mine operators, this translates into clearer timelines, greater confidence in delivery and equipment that is purpose‑built for real underground conditions. For MMS crews, it creates safer, more efficient fabrication workflows that support consistent standards before equipment ever reaches site.

As underground operations continue to face pressure around reliability, compliance and workforce availability, MMS’s priority is to remain the first call when infrastructure work matters.

“Expanding our workshop capability is a deliberate step toward supporting our clients with practical solutions, not just promises,” said Chris. “This new capability also reinforces our long-term commitment to the underground sector. It is an investment made with future demand in mind, ensuring MMS can continue to support projects across Australia with the same hands-on approach we’re known for.”
